The English Language Program is designed for students at all skill levels and offers a variety of English language learning goals.

Homestay
Living with a Canadian family is an excellent way to improve your English and cross-cultural skills.
- Minimum Homestay Duration: 4 weeks
- Homestay Includes:
- Private bedroom
- Desk for studying
- Three meals per day (at least one meal prepared by the host family), 7 days a week
- Free laundry facilities for students to do their own laundry
- Shared common areas (e.g., kitchen, living room)
- Airport pickup
- Student services provided by homestay coordinators and management team
- Homestay Fees:
- Students taking English Language Program (ELP) courses: $325 per week or $50 per day (summer), $300 per week or $45 per day (other terms)
- Minors and students not taking ELP courses: $350 per week or $50 per day
- Homestay Placement Fee: $375 (non-refundable) per placement
- Additional Custodianship Fee: $225 to $250 for students who do not use homestay between semesters

Homestay Screening Process
A comprehensive screening process is used to evaluate each host family.
- Online Application: Each applicant must fill out an extensive application form.
- Phone Interview: Qualified families are interviewed by phone.
- On-Site Visit: Host families must be friendly, have strong English skills, and live in a clean and convenient location.
- Ongoing Screening: Host families are continuously evaluated to ensure they meet the program's requirements.

University of Calgary
The University of Calgary is located in the heart of Southern Alberta and acknowledges the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7.
Location
The university is situated on land Northwest of where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, a site traditionally known as Moh’kins’tsis to the Blackfoot, Wîchîspa to the Stoney Nakoda, and Guts’ists’i to the Tsuut’ina.
Traditional Territories
The university acknowledges and pays tribute to the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy, the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda. The city of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation within Alberta.
