MDCV Affiliations
The MDCV program is affiliated with the Libin Cardiovascular Institute, a joint entity of Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary. The majority of the program's faculty members and students are affiliated with this institute, as is the student-led group LCITO.
MDCV Awards
First Author Award
This award recognizes research achievements made by MDCV graduate students. Students may receive up to one award per calendar year, with an award value of $250.
Travel Award
Travel reimbursements may be provided to students presenting at conferences, pending budgetary obligations and availability of funds.
Training Award
Up to $1000 in funds may be available to students attending training workshops or working in a collaborator's lab outside of Calgary.
Osten-Victor Graduate Scholarship in Cardiology
This award is valued at $5000. The recipient is selected by the graduate program and then forwarded to the Faculty of Graduate Studies for consideration. The internal deadline for nominations is December 1.
MDCV Graduate Student Support
The program has funding available that will be allocated to students each year, taking into consideration the student's GPA, research achievements, progress in the program, and the entire amount of financial support received.
