Introduction to the Spain: ICADE Program

The ICADE Business School, part of the Universidad Pontificia Comillas, offers a unique study abroad opportunity for undergraduate students. Located in Madrid, Spain, this program allows students to immerse themselves in Spanish culture and learn about the country's dynamic economy.


Program Overview

  • GPA Requirement: 3.00
  • Program Options: Exchange
    • On an Exchange program, students “trade” places with a student from another institution and pay UNC tuition and fees.
  • Language of Instruction: Spanish, English
  • Program Dates:
    • Fall: August 28 to December 22, 2025 (includes orientation and exams)
      • Note: It is recommended that students arrive a week before classes begin.
    • Spring: January 8 – May 20, 2026

Application Information

  • Level of Competitiveness: 2 (Most students are typically accepted)
  • Application Process: Apply for a Kenan-Flagler Global Program and Global Programs scholarship through the same application system using your Kenan-Flagler credentials.

Program Logistics

Academics

  • Course Offerings: Students can take business core and elective courses at ICADE that will transfer for the undergraduate business major or minor.
  • Credit Transfer: Courses taken at ICADE will transfer back to UNC Pass (ICADE grade of 5 and above)/Fail (ICADE grade below 5).
  • Language Prerequisite: No prior Spanish language experience required
  • Language of Instruction: English/Spanish
