Bachelor of Arts

The Bachelor of Arts program requires 30-31 credit hours from 9 courses, as well as the general education requirements in place when students enrolled at UNC-CH.

Gateway Course

• ECON 101: Introductory Economics

Core Requirements

• ECON 400: Data Science and Econometrics
• ECON 410: Intermediate Microeconomics
• ECON 420: Intermediate Macroeconomics

Additional Requirements

• Three 400-level Electives: Choose three electives from the approved list, organized into field categories to guide selections.
• One 500-level elective: Choose one elective from the approved list, organized into field categories to guide selections.
• Calculus: MATH 152, MATH 231, or STOR 113

Program Structure

The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of economics, including data science, econometrics, microeconomics, and macroeconomics. Students are free to choose courses from any category based on their interests and academic goals.
