Program Overview


Double Diploma EPFL-CentraleSupélec

Overview

The Double Diploma EPFL-CentraleSupélec is a joint program between the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and CentraleSupélec. This program allows students to earn two diplomas, one from each institution, upon completion of the program.


Conditions

  • EPFL Students: EPFL students enrolled in the 2nd year of the Bachelor's program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Microengineering, or Civil Engineering, with a minimum average grade of 5.0/6 at the propaedeutic exam, are eligible to apply for the CentraleSupélec Engineer's program.
  • French Students Enrolled at EPFL: A quota of five places is reserved for French students enrolled at EPFL, provided they have not been enrolled in the Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Écoles (CPGE) before arriving at EPFL.
  • CentraleSupélec Students: CentraleSupélec students in their 2nd year of the Engineer's program can apply to EPFL for the Master's program, except for the Master's programs in Mathematics, Mathematical Engineering, Architecture, Nuclear Engineering, and Cybersecurity.

Program Structure

  • EPFL Students:
    • Two years of Bachelor's studies at EPFL
    • The first two years of the CentraleSupélec Engineer's program (120 ECTS, according to the list of generic courses)
    • The entire EPFL Master's program (120 ECTS, including the internship and final Master's project)
  • CentraleSupélec Students:
    • Two years of preparatory classes for the Grandes Écoles with admission to the CentraleSupélec Engineer's program after a competitive selection process
    • Two years of the CentraleSupélec Engineer's program (equivalent to Master 1)
    • The entire EPFL Master's program (120 ECTS, including the internship and final Master's project)

Language Requirements

  • EPFL: A level C1 in English is recommended.
  • CentraleSupélec: A minimum level B1 in French and English is required to participate in the program. By the end of the program, a level C1 in English is required, validated by a language certificate.

Diplomas Awarded

  • EPFL students receive the EPFL Bachelor's diploma after completing the two years at CentraleSupélec.
  • Students from both institutions who successfully complete the double diploma program (Bachelor's and Master's levels) receive the CentraleSupélec Engineer's diploma and the EPFL Master's diploma.

  • EPFL Students: EPFL students must pay various fees at CentraleSupélec related to social security and access to educational resources.
