Program Overview
Master Conjoint EPFL- Grenoble INP-Politecnico di Torino | MNIS
The EPFL, the Grenoble Institute of Technology (INPG), and the Politecnico di Torino (PoliTo) have partnered to offer a joint Master's program in Micro- and Nanotechnologies for Integrated Systems (MNIS). This program allows students to complete a semester at each of the three partner institutions.
Conditions
- Students from EPFL must have a minimum average grade of 4.5/6 across their Bachelor's curriculum to apply for this program.
Candidature and Deadlines
- The eligibility for the joint program is managed by each institution for students enrolled there.
Procedure for EPFL Students
- EPFL students apply for the MNIS program through the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, providing a CV, a letter of motivation, and a transcript of records/exam certificates. Admission considers the Bachelor's specialization, academic results, chosen course of study, and language proficiency.
- The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering conducts an initial selection. Once this initial selection is passed, EPFL students apply for the Master's program via an online form. Applications are open from December 1st to the end of February.
- A joint admission jury from the three universities conducts the final selection of students admitted to the program at the end of June.
Structure of the Program
- Students admitted to the program must obtain 120 ECTS in total over a maximum period of six semesters, following the mobility plan:
- 1st semester: PoliTo (30 ECTS)
- 2nd semester: INPG (30 ECTS)
- 3rd semester: EPFL (30 ECTS)
- 4th semester: Master's project (or tesi di laurea, 30 ECTS)
- The Master's project (or tesi di laurea) can be conducted:
- At the university of origin
- At one of the partner universities (according to the rules and under the supervision of the institution in question)
- In industry or at a third-party institution

- Master of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, awarded by EPFL
- Laurea Magistrale in Nanotechnologies for ICT, awarded by PoliTo
- Diplôme d'ingénieur de l'Institut national polytechnique de Grenoble, spécialité micro- et nanotechnologies pour les systèmes intégrés, awarded by INPG
- A joint certificate, containing the official signatures and logos of each institution and mentioning the specialization Micro- and Nanotechnologies for Integrated Systems (MNIS), is also awarded.
