Master in Life Sciences Engineering
The Master in Life Sciences Engineering is designed to train young scientists to acquire a deep understanding of the biological context and engineering aspects of development of new technologies in Life Sciences.
Program Overview
The Master in Life Sciences Engineering focuses on key areas of biomedical research and engineering technologies, including molecular medicine, tissue engineering, oncology, immunology, data science, neurosciences, and biocomputational sciences. It covers both theoretical foundations and practical aspects of the discipline.
Program Structure
The Master in Life Sciences Engineering comprises 120 ECTS credits, divided into:
- The Master cycle (90 ECTS)
- Master project taking place during the last semester (30 ECTS)
Coursebook and Study Plan
The program follows EPFL’s official study plan and regulations. A coursebook for the Master is available.
Requirements for Passing
Specific requirements must be met to pass the Master’s degree.
Interdisciplinary Projects
Interdisciplinary MAKE projects are available and can be validated as Lab immersion in Life Sciences Engineering. Note that students who have validated iGEM as a Bachelor project can validate iGEM lab (6 ECTS credits) during their Master.
Double Degree
Outstanding students have the possibility to pursue a double degree or a joint Master’s.
