Program Overview
Program Overview
The Social Sciences and Humanities (SHS) Program at the College of Humanities (CDH) offers a comprehensive education in the field. The program includes a Master of Science in Digital Humanities, a Minor in Digital Humanities, Media and Society, and a Digital Humanities Doctoral Program.
Program Structure
The Master semester 1 and 2 take place on Wednesdays from 4:15 pm to 7 pm. Each student attends a two-semester course, receiving in-depth teaching and educational support during the first semester (autumn) and conducting research individually or in groups in the second semester (spring).
Important Information
In case of exceptional admission in Master at the spring semester, no student can attend a Master course whose introduction was given at the autumn semester. Those students must begin the Master course in autumn with the introduction, before completing the Master project the next spring semester.
Available Courses
More than 20 Master courses are available, with places limited. The courses offer an interdisciplinary approach to specific issues, promoting teamwork in the formulation of a problem and its resolving, in a project logic.
Research Areas

The program is part of the College of Humanities (CDH) and is connected to the broader education offerings at EPFL, including Bachelor, Master, Doctorate, and Continuing Education programs.
