The Bachelor of Advanced Business (Honours) is a flagship advanced undergraduate offering of the Business School. This customisable program is a 4-year degree with embedded honours, suited to high-achieving students with ambitions of leadership careers in business and the community.


Program Details

  • The program combines advanced coursework and authentic learning experiences to succeed in top-tier business, strategy, and consulting roles.
  • It allows students to choose 2 majors from 8 diverse options or a research pathway.
  • The comprehensive core courses expose students to all 8 disciplines, while dedicated capstone courses in each major and a program-level capstone course provide the depth needed to understand not just how things are done, but why.
  • Students gain exposure to a breadth and depth of business expertise while learning from internationally respected industry experts and teachers.

Majors

The program offers the following majors:


  • Accounting: designed to prepare students for membership with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) Australia.
  • Business Analytics: provides knowledge and skills needed to participate in and lead the analytics revolution.
  • Business Information Systems: prepares students for a career as an expert business analyst who knows how to combine IT resources with business needs.
  • Finance: for anyone who wants to work in banking and finance, investment and portfolio management, corporate finance, risk assessment, or business analysis.
  • Human Resources: focuses on all aspects of people management, preparing students for a career as an HR manager or consultant.
  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship: shows students how to take a new idea to market by building a new business from the ground up.
  • International Business: prepares students to work in any business with global operations or any business that wants to expand.
  • Marketing: develops students into dynamic marketing professionals.

Entry Requirements

  • Prerequisites: General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C) and Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C).
  • Minimum entry score: varies depending on the qualification and where it was obtained.
  • English language requirements: IELTS overall 7; reading 6.5; writing 6.5; speaking 6.5; listening 6.5.
