Overview
The Bachelors of Agribusiness / Agricultural Science is a four-year program that combines business skills with agricultural science expertise. This program prepares students for innovative management positions in Australia and globally. Majors
The program offers three majors:
- Agronomy: Build knowledge of how the environment and agricultural practices can be managed to control the whole plant growth and crop production cycle.
- Animal Science: Focus on the science and management of production animals, including beef and dairy cattle, poultry, sheep, goats, and pigs.
- Horticulture: Study areas as diverse as the intensive production of fruit, vegetable, nursery, and floricultural crops and turf, and the use of plants for recreational and therapeutic benefit or to enhance the urban landscape.
Entry Requirements
- Prerequisites: Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) with General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C) and General Mathematics or Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C). Agricultural Science and Biology are recommended subjects.
- Minimum entry score: The minimum entry score varies depending on the student's background and qualification. Students can check the minimum entry score on the university's website.
- English language requirements: IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ, please refer to the university's website.
Fees and Scholarships
- Indicative annual fee: Approximately $7,745 for domestic students and $54,096 for international students.
- Additional costs: This program includes one or more compulsory field trip courses that may incur additional costs.
- Scholarships: Students may be eligible for more than 100 scholarships, including the Rt Hon Doug Anthony AC, CH, FTSE Scholarship, Business Scholarship for Chinese Students, and Alumni Friends Veterinary Science Scholarship.
How to Apply
- Applying online: If senior schooling is from outside Australia, students can submit their application to UQ or use an approved UQ agent.
- Applying through QTAC: All domestic applications should be submitted to the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).
- Important dates: The closing date for this program is November 30 of the previous year for semester 1 commencement.
