Program Overview
Overview
The Bachelor of Business Management is a three-year program that unlocks diverse career opportunities across industries by developing a broad range of essential business skills. Students explore a breadth of business topics and gain core capabilities across economics, international business, marketing, human resources, information systems, entrepreneurship, and leadership. They can combine these business fundamentals with expertise in their choice of up to two specializations.
Entry Requirements
- Prerequisites: Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) with General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C) and one of General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C).
- Minimum entry score: The minimum entry score varies depending on the student's qualification and where they studied. Students can select their qualification and study location to view the minimum entry score required.
- English language requirements: IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ, TOEFL iBT (including Paper Edition) - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21, and speaking 19. PTE Academic - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub-bands. BE - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills. CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub-bands.
Majors

- Business Economics: For anyone who wants to work in strategy, economics, or business analysis. It develops useful skills for marketing, purchasing, and human resource management.
- Business Information Systems: Focuses on the relationship between business and technology, with a focus on the role played by information systems in large organizations.
- Human Resources: Focuses on all aspects of people management, helping students develop an understanding of motivation at work, how HR functions identify talent, and how organizations ensure employees gain the required competence.
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Shows students how to take a new idea to market by building a new business from the ground up.
- International Business: Prepares students to work in any business with global operations or any business that wants to expand.
- Leadership and Management Science: Teaches students how to lead dynamic workplaces of the future, managing and leading teams through rapid change and disruption.
- Marketing: Develops students into dynamic marketing professionals, studying marketing strategy and customer behavior.
Fees and Scholarships
- Indicative annual fee for domestic students: $16,030 (2026).
- Indicative annual fee for international students: AUD $54,096 (2026).
- Government assistance: Domestic places in the Bachelor of Business Management are Commonwealth supported, meaning the cost of education is shared between the student and the Australian Government.
- Scholarships: Students may be eligible for more than 100 scholarships.
How to Apply
- Applying online: If senior schooling is from outside Australia, students can submit their application to UQ or use an approved UQ agent.
- Applying through QTAC: If senior schooling is from Australia, students should submit their application to the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).
- Important dates: Check the QTAC website for closing dates if studying Year 12 in Australia. For international students, the closing date for semester 2 is May 31 of the year of commencement, and for semester 1, it is November 30 of the previous year.
