The Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) is a four-year program designed to equip students with the expertise to become leaders in shaping the future of healthcare through a curriculum focused on modern pharmacy practice. Students will gain the technical knowledge, critical thinking, and communication skills necessary to succeed as medicines experts.

Entry Requirements

Prerequisites

• Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent):
  • General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C)
  • General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C)
  • Chemistry (Units 3 & 4, C)
  • Biology is also recommended

Minimum Entry Score

• ATAR / Rank: 80
• IB: 30

• IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6
• TOEFL iBT (including Paper Edition) - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21, and speaking 19
• PTE Academic - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub-bands
• BE - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills
• CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub-bands
• OET is not accepted

Majors

Fields of Study

• Clinical and Experimental Therapeutics: This optional major enables students to pursue a research-focused career in hospital pharmacy, the pharmacy industry, or academia. Students will complete a year-long research project while working as part of a research team, expanding their knowledge and developing high-level skills in critical and analytical thinking, research design, writing, and project management.

Additional Costs

• Students are expected to fund travel and living expenses associated with placements, some of which may be outside the Brisbane metropolitan area
• A clinical uniform shirt is required and may be purchased through the School
• Costs for vaccinations and serology are the responsibility of the student and will vary based on individual and program requirements
