Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the Master of Writing, Editing and Publishing, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- For a 1.5-year degree (24 units of study):
- A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- A graduate certificate in writing, editing, and publishing.
- A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline plus 2 years full-time equivalent relevant work experience.
- For a 1-year degree (16 units of study):
- A bachelor honors degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- Relevant disciplines include English, English literature, writing, journalism, communication, art history, history, law, and other relevant fields from the humanities and social sciences.
- A grade point average (GPA) of 4.5 on a 7-point scale in the previous qualification.
- Applicants must submit a 10-page portfolio for review by the program convenor.
English Language Requirements
- IELTS overall 7; reading 7; writing 7; speaking 7; listening 7.
- TOEFL iBT (including Paper Edition) - Overall 100, listening 25, reading 25, writing 27, speaking 24.
- PTE Academic - Overall 72, sub bands minimum 73.
- CES - Overall 185, All sub bands minimum 186.
Fees and Scholarships
- The indicative annual fee for domestic students is $31,200 (2026).
- The indicative annual fee for international students is AUD $45,792 (2026).
- Scholarships are available, including the Qin Sirong and Yin Hongxiu Scholarship, Business Scholarship for Chinese Students, Paul Compton Scholarship, and Professor Chwei-Liang Chiou Scholarship.
