The Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business (BSB40320) is a nationally accredited qualification that provides individuals with the practical, hands-on experience to enter the world of entrepreneurship with confidence.
Program Overview
This program is designed to develop the skills and knowledge required to think creatively, identify opportunities, conduct market research, find a good product-market fit, and develop strategic business plans. The program covers a range of core business skills, including marketing, small business management, and financial and legal compliance.
Program Structure
The program is delivered over 6 months through a combination of:
- online study (2.5 days per week)
- weekly workshops (Wednesday, 9am–3:30pm)
- in-person masterclass events at UQ's St Lucia campus
An accelerated version of this program is available for people already working in industry, consisting of 8 hours of online study and 2 workshops per week (Tuesday and Thursday, 6–9pm).
Assessment
Assessment methods include written exams and reports, oral assessments, and practical demonstrations.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, an understanding of basic business and technology concepts, gained through previous training, qualifications, and/or work experience in a business-related field, would be an advantage.
