Choosing a Major

The Bachelor of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences offers three majors:


  1. Major in Nutrition Sciences: This major focuses on the science of nutrition and its impact on human health. It meets the course requirements for entry into the UQ Master of Dietetics Studies, which is accredited by Dietitians Australia.
  2. Major in Sports Coaching: This major develops leadership skills for coaching and instruction, focusing on learning, performance, leadership, and personal development in and through sport.
  3. Major in Sporting Cultures: This major explores the socio-cultural foundations of human movement, including the history of global sporting events and individual and community capacity building in diverse communities through sport.

Choosing a Dual Degree

Students can also combine the Bachelor of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences with one of four other UQ programs:


  • Dual degree with Bachelor of Business Management: Combines physical activity, sport, exercise, and nutrition with business acumen.
  • Dual degree with Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management: Combines physical activity, sport, exercise, and nutrition with tourism and event management.
