Interior Architecture and Design Major
The Interior Architecture and Design program provides broad exposure to aspects of interior design that prepare students to create inclusive, useful, and beautiful interior spaces for people. This program applies STEM principles and creativity to elevate function and enhance mental, physical, and social health through design. The program is grounded in research-based problem-solving in addition to a variety of cultural, environmental, and historical perspectives.

Concentrations
A concentration allows students to specialize in a certain area within their major, offering a depth of information and hands-on experiences that they may not otherwise get. Many students in this major will concentrate in one area to work in a specific field after college, as well as find mentors and internships before they even graduate.
Interior Architecture
With dynamic experiences that include studio instruction, service learning, and internships, this concentration will help students learn to design sustainable, functional, and beautiful spaces that enhance quality of life. This concentration requires completion of a design scenario at the end of year one to continue on in the major.
Interior Products and Retailing
Learn about interior products and furnishings, design thinking processes, marketing and consumer behavior, and relationship building for business development and entrepreneurship in the interiors industry.
Career Options
The degree will prepare students to practice interior architecture/interior design with knowledge in design fundamentals, space planning and programming, code compliance, materials research, and project management in the design of diverse interior spaces. Students will have a range of paths open to them in design and architecture firms, retail, product development and innovation, and more.
