Program Overview

Accelerated Business Degree

The Accelerated Business Degree program at Colorado State University's College of Business is designed for prospective students with high school AP or IB credits or transfer credits from another higher-education institution. This program allows students to graduate faster, typically within 3 to 3.5 years.

Program Overview

The accelerated degree program offers the same academic value as the traditional 4-year program, just at a different pace. Students can choose from seven concentrations:

  • Accounting
  • Computer Information Systems
  • Finance
  • Financial Planning
  • Management and Innovation
  • Marketing
  • Real Estate

Accelerated Degree Schedule

The accelerated business degree schedule requires students to complete 120 credits of coursework to graduate. Students typically take 15-16 credits each fall and spring semester for three years, and 6-9 credits each summer over three summer sessions. Prior credits, such as AP or IB credits, can be applied toward the business degree to reach graduation goals sooner.

Accelerated Degree Roadmaps by Concentration

A business concentration helps students hone their academic interests into professional skills. The College of Business offers seven concentrations, and students can explore the degree completion maps for each concentration:

  • Accounting
  • Computer Information Systems
  • Finance
  • Financial Planning
  • Management and Innovation
  • Marketing
  • Real Estate

Benefits of the Accelerated Business Degree

The accelerated business degree program offers several benefits, including:

  • Opportunity to start a career six to 12 months earlier
  • Potential to lower the overall cost of attending CSU

Comparison to Traditional Business Degree

The traditional business degree program offers flexibility to change concentrations and pursue additional minors and certificates, as well as more time to explore internship opportunities and companies. However, the accelerated business degree program provides a faster path to graduation and a head start on a career.
