Program Overview
Tourism Management (M.T.M.)
The Master of Tourism Management degree prepares future leaders in outdoor recreation and nature-based tourism for roles in destination and recreation management, operations, marketing, events, entrepreneurship, and hotels and resorts. The degree can be completed in nine months or on a customized timeline. The MTM program provides industry connections, experiential learning opportunities, critical skills, and current content essential to the successful start or advancement of a career in tourism. The industry-driven curriculum focuses on interdisciplinary business approaches involving sustainability, strategic analysis, and current industry topics.

Student Employment
The Master of Tourism Management degree employs an approach that prioritizes experiential learning and industry engagement over conventional thesis-based study. While research methodology is integrated throughout the curriculum, our degree emphasizes applied, hands-on education. Consequently, graduate teaching assistantships and research assistantships (GTA’s and GRA’s) are infrequently available to MTM students.
