Undergraduate Teacher Licensure

Teaching is more than a career, it is about shaping the next generation of learners and leaders. Teaching is a calling.

Program Overview

The Undergraduate Teacher Licensure program at Colorado State University offers 16 majors that pair with teacher education classes. These majors have specially designed curricula, giving students a strong foundation in their content area while building their skills as an educator at the same time. Students will stay on track to graduate with their degree and earn their teaching credential without adding extra semesters.

Student Experience

As a teacher candidate, students will spend time in a different PK-12 classroom each semester. They will lead small groups of students, collaborate with the classroom teacher on lesson plans, learn to lesson plan by themselves, and even teach a class while the cooperating teacher supervises. By the time students graduate, they will be strongly prepared for Colorado’s licensing exams – and ready to make a difference in their own classroom.
