Electronic Art
The Electronic Art concentration is an interdisciplinary program that explores interactive new media design and supports students working in digital mediums. As an Electronic Art student, you will gain technical skills that are complemented by research on contemporary art, current technology, games as art, and animation for interactivity. You will examine technology, its impact on society and culture, and think critically about the digital realm.
Coursework
Interactive design for new media artworks includes physical and digital games, augmented reality, virtual reality, 2D and 3D animation, and sound and video editing. We use the following tools to create these experiences:

Facilities
Our Electronic Art and Digital Fabrication Labs are equipped with state-of-the-art tech to make your ideas a reality. Access to the Department of Art and Art History's WOLD Resource library offers video cameras and tripods, laptops, sound equipment, video shooting equipment, Wacom tablets, as well as many other useful tools for digital art making. As a student within the art department, you also have access to our Digital Fabrication Lab and the Makers’ space at the Richardson Design Center. Both places offer equipment to help you translate your ideas into materials like plastic, metal, and wood via CNC fabrication machines, laser cutters, and 3D printers and scanners.
