The program aims to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to develop and manage nonprofit programs effectively.
Learning Objectives
Students will:
- Apply development strategies for a nonprofit agency including: strategic plan, nonprofit budget, fund development plan, analysis of grant funding sources, and development of agency goals.
- Apply knowledge of components of program development through creation of a program development proposal, including an executive summary, budget, and evaluation plan.
- Distinguish and apply human service values, ethics, theories, and skills to nonprofit management and volunteer programming and management.
- Apply theoretical models of volunteerism and volunteer management to organizational contexts and direct practice.
- Design a volunteer recruitment, training, and evaluation plan.
- Illustrate knowledge in strategic program planning and management, community organizing, staffing and boards, evaluation and implementation strategy in varied organization structures and cultures.
