Overview of the Civil Engineering Program
The undergraduate Civil Engineering program at Colorado State University provides a solid foundation in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering fundamentals, and design and management concepts. The program is designed to offer a broad background in communication, liberal arts, humanities, and social sciences through the All-University Core Curriculum (AUCC). The Civil Engineering curriculum covers various sub-disciplines, including design practices, information technology, technical communications, project management, and engineering ethics. The program culminates in a year-long, term-based senior capstone design experience, emphasizing preparation for high-level professional practice.
Program Requirements
To qualify for graduation, Civil Engineering majors must achieve a minimum 2.000 grade point average at CSU in all courses in engineering, mathematics, physics, and chemistry, as well as courses taken as technical electives. The curriculum for this major assumes students enter college prepared to take calculus.
