Course Details
MECH 513 - Simulation Modeling and Experimentation
This course introduces fundamental concepts of integrated modeling, simulation, and experimentation as a component of the systems engineering process. Students will learn practical processes for improving the defensibility, cost, and capabilities of simulations, with emphases on verification and validation of computational models, quantification and propagation of uncertainty, multi-disciplinary analysis and optimization, and synthesis and decision making. Tools used in the course include MATLAB, Excel, ModelCenter, Simulink, and SimEvents.
Course Format
The class is offered online in a webinar-style format and can be accessed synchronously or asynchronously.
Prerequisite
STAT 315 (Statistics for Engineers and Scientists) or the equivalent.

Textbook information is available at the CSU Bookstore about 3 weeks prior to the start of the term.
