Course Details: ANEQ 322 - Pet Nutrition
Course Description
This course provides students with a basic understanding of dietary requirements for healthy, happy companion animals. Topics covered include basic nutrients, nutrient requirements, feeding practices, prescription diets, developments in pet foods, and sources of nutrients for traditional domestic pets as well as exotics, birds, and wildlife.
Prerequisite
Principles of Animal Nutrition or Principles of Nutrition: Equine Applications or Human Nutrition

Instructors
Nancy Irlbeck, Ph.D., is a Comparative Nutritionist with 27 years of experience as an animal nutritionist at Colorado State University. She has traveled the world, incorporating her experiences into stories, and has served as the Consulting Nutritionist for the Denver Zoo.
