Program Overview


Introduction to Fudan International Summer School of Life Sciences 2025

The Fudan International Summer School of Life Sciences 2025 is a premier academic initiative designed to bring together outstanding graduate and undergraduate students, as well as postdoctoral researchers, from around the globe for an immersive and intellectually stimulating experience. Through fostering cross-cultural academic exchange and collaboration, the program aims to cultivate a vibrant scholarly community united by a shared passion for pushing the boundaries of life sciences.


Program Overview

  • Duration: The international summer school will be held at the picturesque Jiangwan campus of Fudan University from July 23th to August 6th.
  • Host and Organization: It is hosted by Fudan University, organized by the School of Life Sciences, State Key Laboratory of Genetics and Development of Complex Phenotypes, and National Advanced Talent Student Training Center in Biology.
  • Objective: The program provides a world-class learning environment for outstanding students focusing on globalization, new frontiers, and interdisciplinary integration and collaboration.

Curriculum

The international summer school features two specialized course modules:


  1. Genetics and Developmental Biology: This module brings together leading international scholars in the fields of genetics and developmental biology. The curriculum focuses on:
    • Gene expression regulation
    • Structure and function of RNA
    • Translational control
    • Signal transduction
    • Molecular mechanisms of cancer
    • Neurobiology
  2. Evolutionary and Biological Big Data: This module features lectures by leading international scholars. The course focuses on molecular evolution, computational biology, and based on big data science and artificial intelligence. The content involves:

    • Gene big data informatics

Registration and Admission

  • Qualifications: Applicants must be outstanding graduate, undergraduate students, or postdoctoral fellows in life sciences-related fields from all over the world.
  • Tuition and Fees: The summer school is free of tuition and includes complimentary meals for all school activities. However, transport and accommodation expenses are not covered.
  • Scholarship: The summer school program will select 20 exceptional students and provide scholarships to help offset travel and accommodation expenses.

  • Required Materials: Applicants need to fill out the online registration form and upload required materials.

Additional Information

  • Certificate of Study: Fudan University will issue a Certificate of study for students who have completed the selected courses study.
  • City Tours and Cultural Excursions: Participants will have the opportunity to foster academic connections and deepen their understanding of the cultural landscape through city tours, cultural excursions, and a variety of extracurricular activities.
