Program Overview
Psychiatry
The University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine Department of Psychiatry in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is an academically based, clinically driven program with two primary missions: to be a leader in the provision of exceptional, evidenced-based psychiatric care in Tulsa and the surrounding area, and to provide outstanding, evidence-based education for physicians in our residency and fellowship programs, as well as to students in the School of Community Medicine.
About the Department
The department conducts innovative research in psychiatric education and clinical care. In addition to providing exceptional care in the OU Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic and in the OU Integrated Program of Assertive Community Treatment (IMPACT), we work closely with the major hospital systems in the Tulsa area to provide outstanding care while training psychiatry resident physicians, child psychiatry fellow physicians, and students.
Leadership
The department is led by Ondria C. Gleason, M.D., FAPA, FAPM, Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry.
Residency Program
The Department of Psychiatry at the OU-TU School of Community Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma, aims to recruit, retain, and develop a diverse group of resident physicians of the highest caliber who will be shaping the future of healthcare and improving the health of our community. We work in partnership with the largest hospital systems in the area, including Hillcrest Medical Center, St. Francis Medical Center, and Ascension St. John Medical Center, in addition to participating in multiple clinics throughout Tulsa.
