Introduction to the Applied AI Program

The University of Oklahoma is introducing a new bachelor's degree in applied artificial intelligence, available on the OU-Norman campus. This program is designed to meet the growing demands of the technology field, with a focus on providing students with comprehensive understanding of artificial intelligence skills.

Program Details

The OU Polytechnic Institute (OUPI) is expanding to offer this four-year applied artificial intelligence degree. The program is designed to work with local and state industry partners to provide students with hands-on experience and academic support.

Program Benefits

• Students will be in high demand after graduation, with almost 4,000 vacant cybersecurity jobs and more than 600 available jobs in computer and information technology in Oklahoma alone.
• Starting salaries for OUPI graduates range between $75,000 to $85,000 a year.

Admission Criteria

• High school seniors can apply to receive a bachelor's degree in applied artificial intelligence.
• The OU application for admission is now open, with a final scholarship admission deadline of December 15.
• For degree completion programs, students must have at least 24 credit hours and a 2.5 GPA, with an early action admission deadline of March 1.

Program Offerings

• The OUPI will continue to offer degree completion programs in applied artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and software integration and development on the OU-Tulsa campus.
