The Maestría en Demografía Social (Master's in Social Demography) is a postgraduate program offered by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). The program aims to form professionals and academics with a solid preparation in demographic and statistical analysis, enabling them to interpret demographic processes scientifically, using theoretical-methodological tools and techniques developed by the Social Sciences.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Maestría en Demografía Social, applicants must:

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to Social Sciences or Humanities, as well as in Medicine, Actuarial Science, or Mathematics.
• Demonstrate capacity for comprehension and synthesis.
• Possess capacity for scientific writing and argumentation.
• Have skills and abilities for logical analysis and statistical handling.
• Be able to elaborate and develop research proposals.
• Have knowledge of English and another language at a comprehension level, in addition to Spanish.
• Show interest in understanding social reality and contributing to the solution of relevant social problems.
• Adhere to ethical values.
• Demonstrate initiative for professional development.

Program Structure

The Maestría en Demografía Social is a four-semester program. The plan of studies includes:

• A solid theoretical and methodological formation in demographic topics.
