The Maestría en Estudios de Género (Master's in Gender Studies) is a postgraduate program offered by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). The program aims to form experts with the capacity to contribute, from an interdisciplinary approach, theoretical and applied knowledge in gender and feminist studies, deepening in a field of knowledge of the Program, which allows them to develop research, intervention, and teaching activities in public and private organizations.

Introduction

The Maestría en Estudios de Género is part of the Programa de Posgrado en Estudios de Género, which offers three plans: specialization, master's, and doctorate. The objective of the Master's in Gender Studies is to form experts with the capacity to contribute, from an interdisciplinary approach, theoretical and applied knowledge in gender and feminist studies.

Perfil de Ingreso (Admission Profile)

To be admitted to the Master's in Gender Studies, applicants should have:

• Formación a nivel licenciatura (Bachelor's degree-level education)
• Conocimiento básico de las perspectivas de género y feministas (Basic knowledge of gender and feminist perspectives)
• Capacidad para la elaboración de propuestas de intervención e investigación (Ability to elaborate intervention and research proposals)
• Disponibilidad para concluir los estudios en tiempo y forma (Availability to complete studies on time and in the required format)
• Comprensión de lectura de textos en una lengua moderna distinta al español (Reading comprehension in a modern language other than Spanish)
• Disciplina de estudio, rigor argumentativo y pensamiento analítico (Study discipline, argumentative rigor, and analytical thinking)
