Program Overview

The Doctorado en Filosofía (Doctorate in Philosophy) is a postgraduate program offered by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). The program aims to provide students with the conceptual and methodological tools necessary to conduct in-depth and original philosophical research, as well as a solid disciplinary foundation for academic and professional practice at the highest level.

Admission Criteria

To be eligible for the program, applicants must have:

• A specialized knowledge of the main philosophical problems in their field of study
• A detailed knowledge of the primary and secondary bibliography on the proposed research topic
• The ability to start conducting original philosophical research

Program Structure

The program consists of 8 semesters and is offered in a face-to-face modality. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a broad, critical, and specialized knowledge of philosophical topics and problems, as well as the skills and abilities necessary to conduct original research, participate in teaching programs at the postgraduate level, and contribute to the dissemination of philosophy.

The program is offered in collaboration with the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras (Faculty of Philosophy and Letters) and the Instituto de Investigaciones Filosóficas (Institute of Philosophical Research).
