Program Overview

The Programa de Maestría en Economía (Master's Program in Economics) is designed for individuals who have completed their undergraduate studies with a minimum GPA of 8.0. The program is open to applicants from various academic backgrounds, but they must demonstrate basic knowledge of economics, including comprehension, research methodology, mathematics, microeconomics, and macroeconomics.

Important Dates

The selection process for the program consists of four stages:


  1. Stage 1: Registration and online submission of documents through the Dirección General de Administración Escolar (DGAE) system, typically in late January and early February.
  2. Stage 2: Selection process by the Comité Académico del Programa (Academic Committee of the Program), which includes:
  • Publication of the list of applicants who continue to the next stage
  • Administration of the admission exam (MEPSI) in mid-April
  • Presentation of the exam results and publication of the list of applicants who proceed to the interview stage in mid-May
  • Interviews with selected applicants
  1. Stage 3: Publication of the results in mid-June
  2. Stage 4: Document submission to the DGAE in June, with the program starting in August
