Program Overview
Physician Assistant Program
The USF Health Morsani College of Medicine PA Program is an intensive 24-month program that prepares graduates to practice patient-centered, evidence-based medicine in the rapidly changing healthcare environment of the 21st century.
Program Overview
- The program is an integral part of USF Health, an interprofessional health education center where PA students, and other students in the colleges of Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy learn to succeed as part of interdisciplinary health care teams.
- The faculty helps students navigate a rigorous curriculum that carefully blends sophisticated instruction in biomedical sciences with problem-based, clinically focused small group learning.
Clinical Training
- The clinical training sites for the USF PA program include state-of-the-art facilities throughout Tampa Bay, including Tampa General Hospital, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, and the James A. Haley VA Medical Center.
- These venues provide students with exposure to patients and clinical specialties while working with preceptors of exceptional skill.
Accreditation Information
- The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the University of South Florida Physician Assistant Program sponsored by the University of South Florida.
- Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA.
- The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be March 2031.
Program Location
- The PA program will be moving to the USF Health Downtown facility in May 2026.
- The relocation of the program to the Morsani College of Medicine will cultivate a dynamic environment, fostering enriched collaboration and innovative interprofessional learning opportunities.
