Program Overview
Overview of the Dermatology & Cutaneous Surgery Residency Program
The University of South Florida (USF) Health Department of Dermatology & Cutaneous Surgery Residency Program began in 1980 with only one resident. This program has graduated more than 50 American Board of Medical Specialties certified dermatologists since. Today, the program is accredited to train twelve residents (4 per year) and has remained fully staffed since inception. Competition is intense, with 500-600 applicants, most of whom are near the top of their class vying for one of the annual positions. Residents rotate through USF clinical service sites as well as our affiliated hospitals.
