Program Overview


Introduction to the Internal Medicine Residency Program

The Internal Medicine Residency Program at USF Health Morsani College of Medicine is a university-based program located in the beautiful Tampa Bay area. The program's mission is to develop residents into physician-leaders with a strong foundation in patient care and medical knowledge, as well as skills in teaching, scholarly activity, leadership, and quality improvement.


Program Details

  • Learning Environment: Residents train at Tampa General Hospital, a tertiary referral center; Moffitt Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute designated hospital; and James A. Haley Veterans Hospital.

Program Philosophy

The program has a resident-centered philosophy, with a supportive relationship between the administration, faculty, and residents. The program is committed to helping residents become successful in their learning and career pathway.


Program Director

The Program Director is Dr. Kellee Oller, MD, FACP, who is an Associate Professor and has a passion for learning beyond the classroom. Dr. Oller has received multiple awards, including the 2024 ACGME Parker J. Palmer Courage to Teach Award and the American College of Physicians Teacher of the Year in 2017.


Program Administration

The program is supported by several administrators, including Chantal Vazquez, Assistant Director, and Tashalei Chau and Sabrina Reyna, Program Administrators.


Program Outcomes

The program has a 3-year rolling board pass rate of 98%, and residents are adept physicians who provide high-value care, become self-learners, and become leaders in their chosen practice community.
