The USF Health Department of Radiology offers a diverse educational experience in a variety of clinical settings that prepares graduating residents well for careers in either private practice or academic radiology.
Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program
The diagnostic radiology residency program at USF Health offers a diverse educational experience in a variety of clinical settings. The central Florida climate, with its mild winters, offers an additional bonus for year-round recreational activities apart from residency training.
Program Overview
The program provides a comprehensive education in diagnostic radiology, with a focus on preparing residents for careers in either private practice or academic radiology.
Admissions Criteria
To apply to the program, applicants should submit their application and supporting documents through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Medical school transcripts, USMLE scores, and three letters of recommendation must be received by the time the Dean's letter is released to complete the file. If the Residency Training Committee feels the applicant is competitive, they will be contacted with a list of available interview dates. Chosen applicants will be contacted by mid-October. Interviews will be conducted virtually by invitation from October through January.
Program Details
During this residency match cycle, the program will offer a total of 6 advanced diagnostic radiology positions with a PGY-2 year beginning on July 1st. Additionally, the program offers up to 6 PGY-1 positions directly linked to the USF internal medicine residency. The linked PGY-1 or "intern year" begins on July 1st.
