Program Overview


Introduction to the Reliability and Maintainability Center

The Reliability and Maintainability Center (RMC) is a part of the Tickle College of Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The center offers various programs and certifications in reliability and maintainability, including the RMIC Planning and Scheduling Practitioner Certification.


RMIC Planning and Scheduling Practitioner Certification

The RMIC Planning and Scheduling Certification Program provides a comprehensive foundation in R&M knowledge, offering flexibility to include specific training as needed. This program is designed for working professionals and includes a mix of maintenance and reliability education, hands-on coaching and mentoring, and practical exercises.


Requirements for RMIC Planning and Scheduling Practitioner Certification

To achieve the RMIC Planning and Scheduling Practitioner Certification, candidates must complete the following requirements:


  1. Complete One Bootcamp:
  • Strategic Implementation and Leadership in R&M “Boot Camp” (for implementers at all levels)
  • Overview of Modern Reliability & Maintainability Concepts “Boot Camp”
  1. Complete One Planning & Scheduling Course:
  • The course can be taken from any RMC Training Partner (Allied Reliability, Eruditio, IDCON, Marshall Institute, People and Processes, Sparepart Know How)
  1. Complete One Supporting Course:
  • Course can be taken from RMC or any RMC Training Partner
  1. Complete a Coached RMC Planning and Scheduling Focused Project:
  • At work with measurable results
  • Or complete the 6-month online version: iBL “RMIC® – P&S Practitioner Certification” (Eruditio)
