International and Comparative Law

Overview of the Program

The Master's program in International and Comparative Law is designed to provide students with in-depth knowledge in various areas of international and comparative law. It offers students the opportunity to continue their studies in English and enhance their legal competencies in an international work environment. During the program, students also have the chance to spend one or two semesters at another university in Switzerland or abroad to broaden their international knowledge.


Career Opportunities

The Master of Law UZH International and Comparative Law program is geared towards preparing graduates for a career in European or international institutions, international companies, or government agencies and non-governmental organizations with an international focus. Currently, the program does not lead to admission to the bar exam. However, the UZH is in discussions with the bar exam commission regarding this matter. Successful completion of the program also enables graduates to pursue an academic career.


Curriculum

A Master's degree in International and Comparative Law at the University of Zurich provides students with a comprehensive education in international and comparative law. Students also acquire the ability to work independently in scientific and practical fields.
