The Italian Studies program is designed for individuals with a passion for reading, analyzing texts, and understanding the functioning of language as a system. Students are encouraged to explore various Italian-speaking regions through travel and language immersion programs. While Latin knowledge is beneficial, it is not a prerequisite for beginning the Italian Studies program.
Program Structure
The program offers a Bachelor's and Master's degree, which provide students with in-depth knowledge of the Italian language, analytical thinking, and strong writing skills. These skills are essential for careers in secondary school and high school teaching, language and cultural mediation, language and cultural policy, journalism and media, publishing and library science, and private industry.
Career Opportunities
The Master's degree is a prerequisite for obtaining a teaching diploma at the high school level, as well as for further academic qualifications (e.g., Ph.D.). Students can choose Italian as their first or second teaching subject if they aim to obtain a teaching diploma at the high school level.
Teaching Diploma
The program also offers a teaching diploma for Italian language and literature at the high school level. This diploma is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in teaching Italian language and literature at the high school level.
