Legal and Organizational Foundations

• Research in accredited laboratories

• Definition of clinical studies according to HFG
• Certification and accreditation of biobanks
• Informed vs. general consent
• Governance of biobanks

Conducting Clinical Studies

• Planning (experimental design)
• Ethics application
• Sample handling
• Design of SOPs
• Analysis of study samples (single center vs. multi-center studies)
• Sample shipping
• Documentation

Biobanking (Collection and Management) of Clinical Samples

• Biobanking IT and QMS
• Sample acquisition
• Sample transport
• Sample processing (concept "Fit-for-Purpose")
• Storage of biobank samples
• Outgoing and shipping
