Program Overview
Program Overview
The Master's program provides students with in-depth knowledge and the ability to work independently in scientific and practical fields.
Program Structure
The Master of Law at the UZH comprises 90 ECTS credits and offers two study programs:
- Studienprogramm Rechtswissenschaft
- Studienprogramm International and Comparative Law (exclusively in English)
Rechtswissenschaft Program
The Master's program in Rechtswissenschaft builds upon the knowledge acquired during the Bachelor's program, complementing and deepening it.
International and Comparative Law Program
The Master's program in International and Comparative Law, conducted in English, serves to deepen knowledge in various areas of international and comparative law.
Collaborative Programs
In cooperation with other law faculties in Switzerland or abroad, the following Master's programs are offered:
- Double Degree Master's programs (120 ECTS credits)
- Joint Degree Master's program (90 ECTS credits)
Double Degree Programs
The Double Degree programs, with an international focus, allow students to earn two Master's degrees within two years. This provides the unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of two study locations and different national legal systems during the course of study.
Joint Degree Program
The Joint Degree program, in collaboration with the University of Lausanne, enables students to complete a Master's program simultaneously at two partner faculties in Switzerland. This allows for the application and deepening of knowledge in Swiss and international law, as well as the German and French languages, across universities.
Minor Program
The Faculty of Law also offers the possibility to study law as a minor (in combination with a major from another faculty). The minor program in law at the Master's level comprises 30 ECTS credits.
