Program Overview
Enrollment
The Minor/LAO program can be started every fall and spring semester. To enroll in the DSI Minor or Liberal Arts Option (LAO) Digital Skills, a request for a «Change of Degree and/or Study Program» must be made via the student portal before August 31.
Prerequisites
For enrollment, a Bachelor's degree is required, but there are no other specific requirements. However, the requirements of the major program must be met.
- Minor: The Minor can be combined with a Master’s major (90 ECTS) that allows a combination with the DSI Minor Digital Skills (30 ECTS).
- Note: Minor modules are open to students from all disciplines through the School of Transdisciplinary Studies (STS). They can also be completed without enrollment and credited to the program at a later stage.
- LAO: The LAO can only be combined with the «Master of Law: Rechtwissenschaft - 90 ECTS» study program. The LAO does not lead to an independent degree; it is listed as a separate unit in the academic record and does not impact the weighted overall grade.
Language Requirements
The language of instruction is English, requiring language skills of at least C1. Some elective modules are only offered in German, making German language skills an advantage.
Change of Degree or Study Program
Students enrolled at UZH can apply for a change of degree program in the fall or spring semester by requesting a change of degree and/or study program via the student portal.
