Program Overview
The LKS Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong (HKUMed) offers a four-year full-time Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (Graduate Entry Track) for degree holders. This track shares the same goals and learning outcomes as the accredited MBBS programme, with the ultimate objectives of producing doctors with demonstrated competence in the understanding and delivery of effective, humane, and ethical medical care, and who are committed to life-long learning and are ready to proceed to specialist training.
Program Structure
- Year 1 of the track focuses on essential pre-clinical materials.
- This foundational year is crucial for building a strong understanding of medical principles.
- Years 2 to 4 are dedicated to clinical training.
- Year 4 comprises the Assistant Internship, which prepares students for clinical practice.
- Students have the option to undertake the Master of Research in Medicine (MRes[Med]) programme or conduct research projects supervised by top researchers.
Research Opportunities
The MRes(Med) study option allows students to complete two degrees in five years. This provides students with the opportunity to engage in research projects that contribute to advancing medical knowledge and making a wide and profound impact in the medical field.
