Program Overview

The Medico-legal Liability of Individuals and Institutions Training Programme is designed for registered Chinese medicine practitioners in Hong Kong. The program aims to enhance their understanding of the Hong Kong healthcare system, the current legal framework, and the responsibilities of medical institutions and their employees. It also covers regulations and guidelines related to Chinese medicine services and hospital services, as well as medical legal issues such as medical negligence and personal injury claims.

  • Note: The deposit will be refunded in full upon completion of all theoretical classes and hospital visits, and upon achieving a passing grade.

Program Structure

The program consists of 54 hours of theoretical classes and 6 hours of hospital visits and discussions. The theoretical classes cover 17 topics, including:

  • Patient data confidentiality
  • Anti-discrimination, sexual harassment, and complaints

  • Medical waste management
  • Corruption and fraud

Admission Requirements

  • Eligibility: Registered Chinese medicine practitioners with a valid practicing certificate issued by the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong.
  • Residency: Applicants must be permanent residents of Hong Kong.
  • Selection: Applicants must undergo a selection interview.

Professional Recognition

  • Graduates of the program are eligible for up to 54 CME (Continuing Medical Education) points for registered Chinese medicine practitioners.
