• SOCI3102: Understanding Population Change
  • Course description: This course examines the nature and significance of demographic changes, exploring the drivers of population change and its impact on societies.
  • Course learning outcomes:
    1. Engage with key debates on demographic issues and their social problems.
    2. Demonstrate the ability to analyse theories of population change and demographic dynamics critically.
    3. Show capacity to critically apply theories and concepts of fertility, mortality, migration, and newer demographic topics.
    4. Demonstrate a basic understanding of key methodological approaches to measure population dynamics.
