  • SOCI8011: Media and Crime
    • Course Description: This course examines the role of media in shaping our understanding of crime and its impact on society.
    • Course Learning Outcomes:
      1. Recognize how the media assembles crime and criminal justice stories.
      2. Explain and apply theories about the media's role in the definition and construction of crime and social control responses.
      3. Demonstrate expertise of a specific chosen crime or deviance issue.
      4. Synthesize, design and inspire discussions on current issues and problems related to media’s impact on our understanding of chosen crime or deviance issue.
