Program Overview


Undergraduate Programmes

The university offers various undergraduate programmes with different aspects of sustainability incorporated in their curriculum. These programmes include sustainability-themed courses in Environmental Engineering and Environmental Earth Systems Science. Additionally, students from other degree programmes with an interest in sustainability may also enrol in second majors or minors related to this area.

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry with Second Major in Environmental Science

This programme combines an education in general Chemistry with its special applications to the Earth Sciences and Environmental Management. It is run by the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) in partnership with the Asian School of the Environment and the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.


Minimum Subject Requirements

The minimum subject requirements for this programme are:


  • Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level: H2 Level pass in Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics
  • Polytechnic Diploma: Relevant diploma
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma: Pass in Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics at Higher Level
  • NUS High School Diploma: Major CAP of 2.0 in Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics
  • Others (including international applicants): A good grade in Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics at the senior high school level, equivalent to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level or International Baccalaureate

This is a full-time four-year Bachelor of Science programme. The curriculum includes:

Notes

  • This curriculum applies to students matriculating in 2024 or later.
  • The CHES curriculum has three tracks: FYP+PI Track, FYP+PA Track, PI Track.
  • The default track is FYP+PI. Students can declare a change of AU requirement once throughout their candidature to other tracks between Year 2 Semester 2 to Year 3 Semester 2 (4th to 6th active semesters).
