Program Overview
Program Overview
The Applied Economics and Management Ph.D. program at Cornell University is a research-focused degree that offers students the opportunity to specialize in one of several key areas of business. These areas include applied economics and policy, accounting, finance, management and organizations, marketing and management communication, operations, technology, and information management, services management, and strategy and business economics.
Program Description
A Ph.D. in the SC Johnson College of Business is a research-focused degree in one of the main faculty areas of specialization. The choice of which of the three school-oriented fields of study to apply to depends on the student's interests and long-term plans. The field of applied economics and management has a strong economics focus in its coursework, and the Ph.D. program is designed for students interested in pursuing research-focused academic, government, and industry careers in fields such as international development economics, environmental and resource economics, food and agricultural economics, strategy and business economics, or related disciplines.
