• 3, preferably from faculty in communication or related social science field familiar with the applicant's written work and research experiences

Degree-Specific Admissions Requirements

• In addition to the University's minimum requirements and those listed above, all applicants are expected to submit a Resume/CV, a Statement of Purpose and to indicate up to two prospective faculty mentors.
• Applications must be complete and received by the department by the deadline to be considered.
• An interview (either in person or by phone) is required for all finalists.
• The department regards a broad undergraduate background in the behavioral, biological, physical, computational, and social sciences as the best preparation for graduate study in communication.
• It is desirable, but not required, to have majored in communication or a closely allied discipline as an undergraduate.
• Some college coursework in statistics or advanced mathematics is required.
