The Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) program in Periodontology is a research-based program that emphasizes the sciences essential to understanding the principles of clinical periodontology. The program requires a minimum of 12 months of full-time enrollment and is conducted with a periodontal faculty research advisor.
Learning Outcomes
Students will:
- Produce a manuscript that could be submitted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
- Present their research findings at a scientific meeting.
- Be able to assess and compare industry products for clinical efficacy, market sales, and research use.
- Have sufficient educational background and laboratory training to be successful in a Doctor of Science in Dentistry program.
