Program Overview

The Online Bachelor of Arts in Applied Military and Veteran Studies is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the U.S. military and the history of war, as well as the implications for veterans, their families, and society. This program is ideal for active service members, veterans, and those interested in the history of the military and war.


Program Details

  • The program consists of 41 classes, each lasting 7.5 weeks, and requires a total of 120 credit hours.
  • Students will examine multidisciplinary aspects of the U.S. military and the history of war, as well as the implications for veterans, their families, and society.

Admission Requirements

  • First-year students must have a high school diploma or equivalent and have completed at least 14 of the required courses.
  • Transfer students must meet the general admission requirements for ASU.
  • Homeschool applicants must meet all general admission requirements for ASU.
  • International students must meet the general admission requirements for ASU.

Competency Requirements

  • Four years of math
  • Four years of English (non-ESL/ELL courses)
  • Three years of lab sciences (One year each from biology, chemistry, earth science, integrated sciences, or physics)
  • Two years of social sciences (including one year of American history)
  • Two years of the same second language
  • One year of fine arts or career and technical education

Additional Admission Requirements

  • Top 25% in high school graduating class
  • 3.00 GPA in competency courses (4.00 = A)
  • ACT score of 22 for Arizona residents (24 nonresidents) or SAT Reasoning score of 1120 for Arizona residents (1180 nonresidents)
